Our Treats

Treats are as fun as they are functional. They serve as training rewards, enrichment activities, puppy teething and more. They are a great way to say “I love you.”

Like our complete diets, we strive to provide products manufactured by companies with the highest standards in formulating, producing and sourcing your dog’s or cat’s meals utilizing the latest industry research. In addition, we look for companies that manufacture locally as well as in North America.

Keep in mind that treats add extra calories to your furry kids diet. Main meals should be adjusted to offset the extra calories to maintain optimal weight.

Durable.

Durable snacks are the longer lasting treats that help satisfy dog’s chewing sensation and provide activity. We are constantly asked how long a chew will last. There is no perfect answer. You will have to learn what types of chew treats work best with your dog’s chewing style. Some veracious chewers need to avoid these types of snacks since it could crack a tooth or wear down enamel.

Training.

Ideal training treats are small in order to allow for a taste but not a distraction. These treats fall into two categories - “Low value” and “high value”. Low value treats gain attention where as “high value” treats are considered the best-of the-best and never get old. Both styles are utilized for training. Hard biscuit style training treats tend to be more “low-reward” for most dogs. Soft chew and freeze dried meats work better as “high-reward” treats.
