We touch every inch of your pet through the bath, brushing and blow drying process, and see your pet more often then your veterinarian. Consider us the first line of defense in finding anything unusual with the surface of your pet. Also, if your pet has a sudden change in behavior it often time indicates that something environmental or medical maybe effecting your pet. If an undisclosed health/medical problem is discovered and/or your pet experiences a medical issue during grooming, you will be notified.

We do have available medicated shampoos. However, If your pet has a known skin allergy, we recommend bringing a prescription therapy shampoo for us to use. We cannot predict pre-existing conditions or skin allergies, found or aggravated before, during or after grooming nor guarantee any shampoos/conditioners to be completely hypo-allergenic resulting in hot spots, rashes or other skin reactions.

Parasites:  If fleas or ticks are found during the grooming process a natural product will be used to kill adult parasites. We do not use medicated “dips”. We will recommend that you immediately call your veterinarian for the best method to proceed forward to prevent the infestation from returning. Once fleas are present on your pet, your house may be already infested.

De-shed and Matt Removal Risks:  A matted coat or de-shedding is a necessity if your pet's coat is tangled beyond the ability to brush or comb through it smoothly.  De-matting sessions are longer, stressful and may cause skin issues. If additional unforeseen matting is found, a call will be placed to the owner for any alterations to the grooming style. Photos and Videos of matting will be taken.

Brushing out matting may cause the following issues:

  • Skin irritation, rashes or infection due to dirt, dander and tight matts pulling on skin; and/or parasites trapped under matted coat.

  • Coat loss due to the coat being pulled out of the skin leading to bald spots

  • Underlying hot spots, open sores or abscess which in extreme cases may have secondary parasites/maggots’ infestations from the mats or extra undercoat pulling on the coat naturally over time.

The shaving process may irritate your pet's skin and pose risks including nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats, and ear bruising due to excessive head shaking afterward. For pets that have not been shaved before and have excessive matting, they may be prone to:

  • rashes from clipper irritation or tight matts pulling skin.

  • rug & sun burn susceptibility

  • self-inflicted scratch marks or excessive ear shaking

  • behavioral changes due to an altered look/smell.
